Mrs Esther Wairimu is an educator. She has considerable experience of teaching in mixed day and boarding secondary school, teachers’ college and national school. This experience created an awareness that when exposed to the right learning environment, all learners can excel.

As a professional teacher she has been teaching at Alliance Girls High School. She has served as a senior head of department in the school. In this capacity, she has steered the Humanity department into academic success, promoted team work and cohesion among all departmental members. She has guided teachers in the department on general conduct as professional teachers and ensured effective curriculum delivery.  She has served in the Board of Management academic committee.

As a teacher in the school, she has worked with students and collaborated with parents to contribute to the academic, social, and physical development of learners. She has worked to enhance learning experiences and enabled students of different levels to get the most from their time at secondary school. She has encouraged learners, while challenging and inspiring them to deepen their knowledge and understanding. She possesses a proven track record of leading learners to high academic achievement.

Between 2014 and 2021, Esther has been a teaching practice teacher mentor with Kenyatta University. The responsibilities have included guiding student teachers on general conduct while on teaching practice; acting as a link between the university and the school on matters of teacher trainees as well as supervising teacher trainees in classroom teaching. She has worked in mentoring teacher trainees to emerge as qualified teachers who can successfully teach in any secondary school in the country. While an assistant lecturer at Eregi Teachers college, worked with primary school teacher trainees from all parts of the country, preparing them to effectively deliver curriculum in any primary school in the country.

She has attended many seminars, workshops, induction courses and international education exchange programme. Esther holds a Masters of education in educational foundations from Kenyatta University and Bachelors of Education (Honors) also from Kenyatta University.

She is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of learners and their education, especially the girl child.
