Our work involves conducting national assessments and collecting data and in some cases locally, representative data at the sub-national level. We collect data at the village, household, and school level. We launch and release the report at the national level, inviting policymakers from government and educational stakeholders drawn from development partners and civil society organizations.
We also pursue a more direct (re)presentation of facts and evidence in decision-making platforms including the Parliamentary Committee on Education, teacher and parent associations and other task forces formed to think through education in general for direct persuasion. Media (Radio, Print, TV, and social media) is always a critical platform in bringing citizens and leaders to understanding the status of education and learning in the country.

At the sub-national level, we engage local leadership, community-based organizations, parents, school leaders, and the general public to ignite debates among citizens and leaders. We use various participatory approaches to engage with communities and local leaders by sharing reports and assessment findings to create awareness of the status of learning outcomes among children. We trigger public discussions about quality education and related challenges and stimulate community and leaders’ responses for collective action to improve pupils’ attendance in school and learning outcomes. The evidence from the assessments, research, and innovations also inform decision-making and related educational practices. Through these engagements, parents and communities become stronger partners of the schools at the local level to engage and contribute to improved learning competencies.

Additionally, we innovatively engage other education stakeholders at the global space, academia and other education experts with our findings in diverse platforms. The various reports and policy briefs are shared during organized webinars, round table/breakfast meetings, and conferences like EE4A, Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB), KEPSHA, and other conferences in the education space
