Carol Bisieri Onsomu is a Senior Program Officer-Data and Evidence at the Usawa Agenda Organization, where she leads major projects purposed to enhance equitable learning outcomes and address education system injustices. Her work focuses on using data to effectively affect program administration and education policies. Carol Onsomu has specialized skills in Economics, Data Analysis, Public Finance and Program Management, with deep focus on driving impactful policy and program solutions through data-driven insights. Carol Onsomu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Nairobi, specializing in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and quantitative methods. Before her tenure at Usawa Agenda, Carol Onsomu worked as a consultant with the World Bank Group, contributing to international development projects and focusing on social sector economics, especially in education and public finance. Further, Carol Onsomu was part of the Dissertation Research Internship Program (DRIP) at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), where she was a Graduate Scholar researching on social sector economics. Additionally, Carol Onsomu acquired extensive experience as a Research Assistant in various government institutions, where she used economic modeling and data visualization tools to address social issues, influencing policy implementation and contributing to welfare improvement through evidence-based solutions. Carol Onsomu’s expertise and dedication have positioned her in driving forward education justice and equity, with a strong commitment to using data and evidence to craft policies that create real-world impacts.
